Tips and Information:
GUTTER MACHINES:
* Never transport a gutter machine without metal fed through all roller stations. We have available, free for the asking, a bright yellow sticker to apply to your machine cautioning against this. See our sales and business aides section, on this site, for a picture of the sticker.
* Never run unpainted metal through a gutter machine.
* Never make big adjustments to a machine without trying another coil first.
* Especially in cold weather, use heavy wired extension cords and avoid the use of long cords when possible.
* Use lacquer or paint thinners to clean the rollers of a gutter machine. Make sure to use all of the normal care and precautions when using these thinners.
INSTALLATION:
* A minimum of one downspout should be used for each 40 ft. of gutter.
* A 2x3 downspout will handle the water from approximately 600 sq. ft. of roof area. A 3x4 downspout will handle the water from approximately 1200 sq. ft. of roof area.
* An electricians hammer has an extended neck which works great for nailing hidden gutter brackets.
* The seamless gutter industry recommends that single sections of gutter should not exceed 50 ft. in length and fasteners should be placed every two feet. Slip joint connectors should be used on runs in excess of 50 ft.
* The following are the yields on gutter coil;
.027 x 11 3/4" 2.65 ft. per lb.
.032 x 11 3/4" 2.24 ft. per lb.
.027 x 15" 2.08 ft. per lb.
.032 x 15" 1.76 ft. per lb.
